The Frazier Cartridge Box has a wooden block in a leather case with 2 rows of 9 holes drilled into it, holding a total of 18 cartridges.  The cover is hinged at the bottom and has a brass finial which attaches to a leather strap sewn on the back of the box. 

Our specimen is marked on the front of the box "FRAZIER'S PATENT FEBY 5TH 1872 REISSUED MCH 5TH 1878 PATENT APRIL 23RD 1878" and "McKENNEY & CO NEW YORK".
